Professor McGlynn tells Parliamentary Committee that ‘pornography normalises sexual violence’

Pornography normalises sexual violence

Professor McGlynn today gave evidence to the inquiry into pornography and its impacts being conducted by Parliament’s Committee on Women and Equality. She explained that the easy availability of sexually violent porn is normalising sexual violence and is the ‘cultural wallpaper’ in all our lives. She recommended law reform changes to better regulate pornography including extending the extreme pornography laws and strengthening the Online Safety Bill.
