I am pleased to be appointed to the UK’s Independent Pornography Review Taskforce which has been established to take forward the recommendations of the Independent Review of Pornography led by Baroness Bertin.

The Taskforce has been established by Baroness Bertin and brings together politicians, campaigners, police, charities, tech companies and organisations who are invested in making the online world a safer place and reducing the harms of pornography.

At the first roundtable, I spoke about the need to enforce the Online Safety Act 2023 to remove rape pornography which remains prevalent online, recommended strengthening the regulation of pornography that mimics child sexual abuse, as well as highlighting the role of search engines in facilitating the easy access to sexually violent and misogynistic pornography.

I am also working closely with Baroness Bertin and other colleagues to ensure that the Government announcement to criminalise strangulation pornography is implemented in the most comprehensive and effective way.
