Winner of Lifetime Achievement Award

I am honoured to have been awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Prevention of VAWG Awards ceremony in Parliament this week. 

No achievement of this kind is ever individual. Every bit of progress has only been possible through collaboration with colleagues, students, campaigners, policymakers, survivors, and friends whose insight, challenge, and support have shaped my work over many years. This recognition belongs to all of them too. 

This award also recognises how much has changed. Many of the issues that have defined my work were once dismissed, minimised, or simply invisible in law and policy. Today, there is a far greater recognition that online harms and abuse enabled by digital technologies are real harms, and that our legal and policy frameworks must be transformed. Thank you to Jess Phillips MP, who presented my award, saying my work has helped take ‘violence against women and girls policy into the 21st century’.

But I am not finished yet, as there is still so much more to do!
