Delighted to announce my new book Exposed: The Rise of Extreme Porn and How We Fight Back is now available for pre-order and is published in May 2026.

I felt compelled to write Exposed because there remains so little appetite to properly recognise the nature and true extent of the racist, misogynistic, and sexually violent material that is so freely and easily accessible on mainstream porn sites.

I also wanted to challenge the labels “anti-sex” or “sex-negative” often given to those of us who speak out about this — when the truth is that there is nothing sex-positive for women about mainstream porn. My approach is sex-positive: I want a world of porn without the patriarchy — where women’s consent and sexual pleasure are central, not erased.

My focus is not just any porn — but what I call ‘patriarchal porn’. It’s the porn that dominates the world’s biggest, mainstream platforms, shaping what we think sex is, what’s normal, what’s expected. It eroticises inequality and normalises aggression, humiliation and coercion. Patriarchal porn is not hidden or niche, and it’s shaping our culture, our politics, and our freedoms in endlessly negative ways.

My approach is to turn the conventional arguments about porn and freedom on their head. The same liberal values so often used to resist regulation — autonomy, liberty, privacy, and freedom of expression — are exactly the values that demand it.

Things will not change on their own, and so to reclaim our sexual freedom, equality and democracy, we must confront and regulate patriarchal porn. We must imagine a world of porn without the patriarchy.

You can pre-order here.
